Hello fellow voicers! I had so much fun chatting with Tim Callaway about his voice over adventure. Tim has a background of 6 years being a DJ. He found that being a DJ did not pay enough money so he started pursuing podcasting. Tim’s podcasts were about the “happiest place in the world”; Disneyland and everything and anything Disney. During this time Tim was living near our original TVAS studio and often noticed the studio sign out front. In May 2016 he stopped in and thus began his VO career. One of the classes he enjoyed the most was Dave Fennoy’s character workshop.
Tim feels Dave is a terrific teacher as he felt challenged by his coaching. Tim took away many things he still uses in his craft today. He plans on taking the Rates, Quotes and Billing class when next offered as he has realized that being a voice over artist is not all about what happens in the booth, that it’s just as much about the business side. Tim is currently working in commercial, elearning and explainer video genres. He is especially proud of a piece he voiced for the Georgia State University (His voice is 0:51 to 0:58). In the future he wants to pursue more training in character voices. Tim boasts of being a truly hard-core Disney fan. He has an extensive collection of Disney memorabilia including an authenticated Walt Disney autograph. Here are just a couple of his Disney podcasts he wanted to share with us: themousecastle.com and The Art of Tyrus Wong. Thank you, Tim, for these examples of your awesome talent.
