It’s February. It’s time to focus! I’m highly caffeinated and have some ideas for us. Here. We. Go!
Here are 25 things you can do right now to get your gluteus maximus in gear for the new year.
1. Clean up your files. Both paper and digital. Back ’em up to your cloud server or an external hard drive. And while you’re at it, organize your contacts.
2. Clean your office. Declutter. Address that one area/pile/mess you always avoid. Dig into that first. It’ll probably take you an hour to tend to, and imagine the level of satisfaction you’ll feel after it’s been taken care of!
3. BREATHE. Get some fresh air anytime you need it.
4. Bring the ZEN vibes to your inbox. Delete what you don’t need. Create an email filing system so you can stay organized. Unsubscribe to your junk. Strive to zero out your inbox by the end of each week to zero, zip, nada!
5. Review your subscription services/apps. Ditch what you don’t use. Save some moola and buy yourself lunch to celebrate.
6. Think of your digital calendar as a tool. Plug in important dates, tasks, don’t-forgets, etc… And give your brain a break! Let your reminders do the heavy lifting for you. If you don’t schedule it, it’s only a fairytale.
7. What’s been bugging you? (Big or small.) Address it.
8. Review your website and update it as needed.
9. Deep clean your booth. Vacuum. Windex. Simple Green. Whatever you like. Let’s dust and make it smell pretty in here. Recycle all those scripts. Holy paper!
10. Listen to your demos. Are they still current? While you’re listening, take a moment to just love yourself. You’re so talented!
11. Pick one thing you want to accomplish this year. Even if it’s small. Write it on a Post-it and stick it to your bathroom mirror. It will stare at you every day while you brush your teeth. Replace it with an updated Post-it once you crush it.
12. Think of one hobby you’ve been meaning to try. Pick a day to try it. Add it to your digital calendar. Creativity fuels creativity. Try new things. It’ll make you a better voice actor. I swear by this.
13. What’s broken and needs to be fixed? Write it down. Pick a day to fix stuff. Add it to your digital calendar.
14. What’s one thing you want to add to your life? A puppy? More water? Add it in.
15. What’s one thing you want to omit from your life? A bad habit? A low-balling, inconsiderate client? Take inventory and let go of anything that no longer serves you so you can feel light and free.
16. Rearrange your home office/workspace. A small change invites a fresh perspective. Look at the world from a different view.
17. Pay attention to your time. Are you happy with how you’re spending it? Nip-tuck the time-sucks. You’ll feel better about it.
18. Self-care. Do you need a nap? A sandwich? A haircut? A hug? A trip to the dentist? Take care of yourself. Let’s maybe add some of that to your digital calendar too. 😉
19. Thank someone you’ve been meaning to thank. A friend. A client. A neighbor. Send them a card. Or just call or text them and say thanks. People love to feel appreciated and thought of.
20. Check in with your clients. Say hi. Let them know you’re alive and you’d love to work with them on their very cool projects. (They know why we’re writing!) 😉 So be brief and touch base.
21. Set up your 2025 auditions & projects folders. Set a goal for how many auditions (and bookings) you’d like to tackle each week/month. And then show up for yourself.
22. Give yourself permission to set some grandiose goals. Name your dream client. Name your financial goal for the year. You’re the one who sets the bar for yourself. So aim high, even if it feels de-lu-lu. We’re all a little crazy.
23. Let go of perfectionism. You are perfectly imperfect and the world needs you, damn it.
24. Give whatever you’re doing everything you’ve got.
25. Trust deep down that you are worthy of everything that is important to you. EVERYTHING.
Rooting for you always – in every single way. (I think I’ll add that to my digital calendar…) 😉
