Open Season for eating. A new cookie recipe, you say? New meat dish? I don’t discriminate. If I haven’t tried it, no worries, I have until December 31st (stay tuned for the Resolutions issue). Found out the hard way that I don’t need a degree in nutrition to realize that a combination of Cheetos (one of the 4 basic food groups) and 4 oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for dinner + an early live session = trouble for my brain waves. I used to lie to myself and say it won’t affect my performance, but it does. The body tells you what works and doesn’t work for you; just listen to it. So to avoid setting myself up for a holiday foodie fest, I eat something green before I start a meal, and that seems to help make me feel better (a small green salad or some broccoli). When I feel good, I just sound better.
